  Project 2
Poster and Seminar-Contemporary Issues in Asian Architecture

The project is research-driven, requiring student to conduct critical interpretations on the salient issues observed from their site visit. Using the problem-based learning approach, an appraisal framework is developed within the specified scope through weekly facilitated group discussion guided by tutors. The learning process leads to a proposal of potential solutions where findings are presented in the form of a research poster and seminar presentation

Reflection:

Creating the research poster was crucial for visually presenting my findings and simplifying complex ideas. Designing it was both challenging and rewarding, helping me clarify key insights. The seminar presentation allowed me to defend my research and receive valuable feedback.

Overall, this project has deepened my understanding of how tradition and modernity interact in Asian architecture. It highlighted the importance of critical thinking and problem-solving in architectural research, which will influence my future studies and professional work, especially in adaptive re-use and the impact of globalization.

We have also made a short video presentation to summarise our case study and findings for this project. Hope you enjoy!
