ARCHITECTURE HISTORY AND THEORY
Through these 14 weeks of learning, my architectural vocabulary and knowledge of history have improved through lectures and weekly assignments. In this module, we were exposed to the beauty of architecture of all around the world from prehistoric times to the present. Covering everything from the people, places, and economic values to the architectural studies and analysis that would be incorporated into our own architectural designs and research.

Incorporating 21st learning tools like quizzes, lecture slides, videos related to the topics, helps students develop the metacognitive skills they need to be lifelong learners.

Not only through reading slides and hearing lectures, the module introduced me to Augmented Reality (AR) during Project 1 which is a group project. AR in education facilitates interactive and enriched learning experiences. This interactivity fosters a deeper understanding through three-dimensional models and simulations that encourage active participation.

Delving further into a building's history as it will provide insights about the structure beyond just its physical components, such as the materials used and the specifics of construction, by examining its architectural styles. In this group project, we were assigned to make an architectural analysis of the Sultan Abdul Samad building.

Different styles in architecture mark the different periods of its history. The research project adopts a document analysis methodology that involves documenting, analyzing, and producing diagrammatical interpretations of buildings from five different periods from pre-historic to the age of enlightenment.
